What Is the Full Form of U N I C E F
UNICEF full form in Hindi: UNICEF का full form “United Nations International Children`s Fund” है। हिंदी में यूनीसेफ का फुल फॉर्म संयुक्त राष्ट्र बाल कोष है। In 2009, BRITISH retailer Tesco used “Change for Good” as a UNICEF-protected advertisement for charitable purposes, but not for commercial or retail purposes. This prompted the agency to say, “This is the first time in UNICEF`s history that a commercial entity has deliberately set out to capitalize on one of our campaigns and then harm a source of income on which many of our children`s programs depend.” They urged the public, “who care about the well-being of children, to carefully consider who they support in consumer choices.” “Change for Good” is also supported by the Australian airline Qantas, which has relied on passengers to raise funds through a specific envelope since 1991, and has raised more than $36 million, with more than 19,500 kg of pieces per year. Frequent flyers can also redeem their mileage points for donations. Norman Gillespie, Executive Director of UNICEF Australia, said: “If every Qantas passenger travelling inside the country gave us just a few of their forgotten pieces every time they travelled, it would make little difference to their time, but a big difference in saving children`s lives.” UNICEF takes all reports of alleged misconduct seriously. If you have information on fraud, corruption, sexual harassment, abuse of power, sexual exploitation and abuse, waste and mismanagement of UNICEF staff, consultants, institutional contractors, suppliers or implementing partners, please report the matter to the Office of Internal Audit and Investigations (OIAI). On 7 September 2006, an agreement was reached between UNICEF and Spanish Catalan football club FC Barcelona, under which the club would donate €1.5 million per year to the organization for five years. As part of the deal, FC Barcelona would wear the UNICEF logo on the front of its uniforms in yellow (as seen in the photo to the right of Lionel Messi). This was the first time that a football club sponsored an organisation and not the other way around. It was also the first time in the history of FC Barcelona that they had the name of another organization on the front of their shirt.
In 2016, the team signed a new four-year sponsorship agreement with UNICEF, guaranteeing the organisation £1.58 million a year and free advertising. Since 2017, Barcelona has partnered with japanese company Rakuten and has since affixed the UNICEF logo in white to the lower back of their jerseys. In December 2020, UNICEF provided funding for child nutrition in the UK for the first time as part of its Covid Food Power for Generation initiative. UNICEF has pledged £25,000 to School Food Matters, a south London charity, to feed children during the Christmas holidays. A charity partnership in Devon had also received £24,000 to feed 120 families in the winter of 2020. UNICEF said it was helping children in the UK due to the increase in food poverty in the UK caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is estimated that in one fifth of households there are children who are starving. UNICEF`s Anna Kettley said: “We are one of the richest countries in the world and we should not have to rely on food banks or food aid.” Labour MP Zarah Sultana told the House of Commons: “For the first time ever, UNICEF, the UN agency tasked with providing humanitarian aid to children, must feed working-class children in Britain, but while children are starving, a few rich people are enjoying obscene wealth. Jacob Rees-Mogg, Conservative MP and Leader of the House of Commons, said: “I think it`s a real scandal that UNICEF is shaping policies in this way when it comes to caring for people in the poorest and most disadvantaged countries in the world, where people are starving, where there are famines and where there are civil wars. and they make cheap political arguments like that and, I believe, give $25,000 to a council. It is a political coup of the lowest order.
UNICEF should be ashamed. Chris Forster of Transforming Plymouth Together, one of Devon`s charities that benefits from UNICEF donations, said: “We had a family as part of the deliveries last week literally in tears of gratitude because their closet was empty. Scottish National Party MP Tommy Sheppard said: “It is astonishing that these comments come from the same government that had to be publicly humiliated to follow Scotland`s example and provide free school meals to children during the holidays. LBC reported that the UN humanitarian agency is providing more than £700,000 to feed hungry children in the UK.
